Called to serve

God has equipped each person with gifts to serve the Lord and others. We believe and encourage you to pray about where God is leading you to serve. This might be in a liturgical role or in a leadership role. You might feel led to serve in the choir, as an usher, as a children’s catechist, or as a lector. Other ways to serve might include helping at a homeless shelter, taking communion to those unable to leave their homes, or helping with repairs and groundskeeping at the parish.

If you are unsure where you can serve, click the button below to contact Fr. Elmer.

Choir

Our choir is vital to many of our liturgies, and we are always looking for new members. Our choir does a great job carrying on the Great English Choral Tradition in our parish. Forster Day is our organist and choir director, and has been doing an excellent job with us for more than 25 years. Please click the button below to contact Forster and let him know that you would like to sing with the choir.

Ushers

Our ushers are the first people you see on a Sunday morning, greeting you with a smiling face and a warm hand shake! Our ushers pass out bulletins, take the offerings, and assist our parishioners every Sunday. Please contact us if you are interested in ushering.

Altar Servers and Acolytes

It takes a lot of people just to have church service on a typical Sunday morning, and their participation makes our community stronger. We have youth who serve at the altar as crucifers and torch bearers and adults who assist as lectors, lay readers, and subdeacons. If you are interested in getting involved in any of these capacities, please contact us.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is responsible for setting up before Mass, for cleaning up after Mass, and for making sure that all of the church’s worship items, sacred vessels, linens, and paraments are well maintained and treated with respect. It is a vital and meaningful ministry! If you would like to become involved in the Altar Guild, please contact us.

Men of Good Shepherd

The Men of Good Shepherd (also called MOGS) meet together for jovial conversation and dinner at 6:00 every third Thursday of the month. They discuss the various needs of the church and schedule work days for specific projects that are needed to care for our building and grounds. The MOGS have been vital to many of the important maintenance projects around the parish properties and to our shut-ins as well. You are more than welcome to join us on the third Thursday of every month.

Women of Good Shepherd

The Women of Good Shepherd (also called WOGS) are involved in caring for our community. The WOGS meet once a month for dinner and focus each month on a different charity in Wichita Falls, raising both money and donations. The WOGS have been able to perform outreach vital to the work of the church. If you are interested in becoming involved with the work of the WOGS, please contact us.

Prayer Daughters

We have two groups of Prayer Daughters currently serving our church: Daughters of the King and Daughters of the Holy Cross. Both are orders of women who commit to a common rule of life and gather together regularly for prayer, study, and service. More information about the Orders can be found here. Both of these are international orders, and the ministry of these orders stretches far beyond our parish. If you would like to learn more, please contact us.

Parish Ministry

Parish Ministry is the group that is there for you when you most need them! Parish Ministry organizes meals for parishioners in need, as well as receptions for funerals and other events. We always need help with this sort of ministry, and it is always helping someone at a time of need. Please contact us if you would like to offer your time.

Special Events

All of the special events that go on in the church throughout the year are part of our parish's ministry to the community and to each other. This is how we fulfill our church's mission to share God's love to everyone we encounter. Our special events are listed on the Events page and shown in the Events Calendar below. (Recurring events that happen on a weekly or monthly basis are listed on this calendar.)
