Senior Warden Report for September 2025

During September, we embarked on our capital campaign to restore the NE corner of the nave. Training has started with Norma Quinn, Horizon’s Leadership Group. Criag Estes and Rick Fenlaw are the chairpersons for the campaign. There will be more training in October and November. The public phase of the campaign will begin in January 2026. If you are interested in taking a leadership role in the campaign, there are still several areas that are needed. Please talk to Father Elmer, Saige, Craig, Rick or me.

Also in September, Saige Plunk was named Parish Administrator as well as being over the Children and Youth ministry program. Children who are 3 yrs old through 5th grade leave church just prior to the sermon for their own chapel service/activity and return during the offertory. I am excited to have Saige in these roles.

Our financial situation is very serious. We are averaging as of September 29 monthly income of $27,695 and monthly expenses of $29,517. Our projected expenses from mid-August to the end of the year are $88,547.61. I encourage everyone to be sure their tithe is current, and if you have some “extra change” perhaps or an investment has done well, you might consider sending some of it the church’s way so we can end the year in the black.

Coming up, we are looking forward to Bishop Reed being here October 26th. Also, we have booked the trolley to go caroling on December 14th with a chili supper to follow.

Women of Good Shepherd will resume their monthly meetings on Oct 12 after the 10:30 service in the parlor. We will plan our activities for the year. A light lunch will be available.

Also, this Sunday is the first Sunday in October and all undesignated cash in the offertory will go to Father Elmer’s discretionary fund. You can also designate funds for his discretionary fund.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda J. Waters
