Join us for the Blessing of the Animals!
Come celebrate the Feast of St. Francis with the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd. Bring your pets, whether furry, feathered, scaled, or four-hooved, for a blessing.
All are welcome, and all pets and animals are welcome to receive a blessing. You don't need to be a member of our parish to join us.
St. Francis of Assisi, born in 1182, gave up a life of comfort to serve the poor and live in joyful simplicity. He is remembered for his love of God's creation and his kinship with every living creature. In his "Canticle of the Sun" he wrote, "Let creatures all give thanks to thee." On his feast day, we give thanks for the animals who bring so much love and joy into our lives.
